2011 was another great year for the bike tour. We can't stress enough how thankful we are for all those that chose to be a part of it. The weather was great, the sun was shining, and the scenery was beautiful.
We had a great turnout for this year's event. We hope that 2012 will be even better! Please spread the word to all your friends and tell them what a wonderful time you had on the tour, and get them to join it next year. Lets try and double the amount of participants!

A great weekend! The annual Skipjack races and Labor Day celebrations were a fun time for all.

Lots of interesting vendors, great food, and compelling musical performances made this years festival one to remember. Captain Harry and the Crew, The Rock Creek Band, and Ashley Forrest all gave wonderful concerts. There were lots of classic cars to look at, both in the show and the parade. Speaking of the parade, the local fire departments, schools, and clubs each gave their own unique entertainment to the crowds lining the streets. The boat docking contest is always a fun event too. And of course, our fire department sold all it it's soft shell crab sandwiches (which I must say were delicious!)

A moving 9/11 tribute...

We will never forget what happend to this country on September 11, 2001. The Fire Department conducted a memorial service in the firehouse for the 10 year anniversary of this event. It was a very emotional event, and yet it brought everyone in the community a little bit closer.
And the Award Goes to...
Congratulations to Donald Ford, J.R. Walters, and Ryan Evans! These three brave firefighters were recently awarded the Gladhill-Thompson Award for an outstanding act of heroism. The three men responded to a call for a boater who had gone missing in the icy January water. Using the recently acquired rescue boat, and with the help of a police helicopter, they located the missing waterman after a long search through the dark winter night.
